Rural industries: wool and silk

The section illustrates, through tables, illustrative texts and material finds, the textile industry, which represented – together with wood and iron processing and construction – one of the key sectors of Moranese craftsmanship in the past.

The textile industry, whose origins are quite remote, was made up of the wool industry and, to a lesser extent, the silk industry, which were integrated, respectively, with mulberry cultivation and the livestock industry.

The numerous tables displayed in the section describe in detail the various operations inherent to the manufacturing cycles of the two fabrics, operations that are now very distant in time and have almost completely disappeared.
